Hollywood Foreign Press Association & American Cinematheque celebrate 2020 Golden Globe Awards Best Motion Picture - Foreign Language nominees with symposium

Directors of ‘Pain and Glory,’ ‘The Farewell,’ ‘Les Misérables,’ ‘Portrait of a Lady on Fire,’ ‘Parasite’ participate

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association and American Cinematheque celebrated the best in international cinema with the 2020 Golden Globe Foreign-Language Nominees Symposium on Saturday at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. The event featured a panel with all five directors of the nominated films in the Best Motion Picture - Foreign Language category. Footage is available on the American Cinematheque YouTube channel and the Golden Globes website. 

This year’s nominees are “Pain and Glory” (Spain), “The Farewell” (USA), “Les Misérables” (France), “Portrait of a Lady on Fire” (France) and “Parasite” (South Korea). Participating in the panel discussion were filmmakers: Pedro Almodóvar (“Pain and Glory”), Bong Joon Ho (“Parasite”), Ladj Ly (“Les Misérables”), Céline Sciamma (“Portrait of a Lady on Fire”) and Lulu Wang (“The Farewell”).

The 2020 Annual Golden Globe Awards aired Sunday on NBC.
