For more than three decades, Lions Club branches around the globe have sponsored a special art contest in schools and youth groups.
A press release explained, “Creating peace posters gives children everywhere the chance to express their visions of peace and inspire the world through art and creativity.”
This year’s theme was “Journey of Peace.” The Barker Lions Club sponsored the contest at its school and received over a dozen entries. Isabella Joy’s entry won first place and was sent on to district. Samantha Murphy’s entry was a close second.
Lions Club President Tom Ware presented them an art kit to continue to foster their creativity.
