Roving fundraiser benefits Downtown Niagara Falls Business Association
Get your Santa suits and elf ears ready for the second annual Niagara Falls “Santa Con,” a roving fundraiser visiting five restaurants and bars from 4-11 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14. “Santa Con” is sponsored by the Downtown Niagara Falls Business Association and is planned as part of night three of “Jingle Falls USA,” a collaborative holiday celebration in Niagara Falls.
This year’s “Santa Con” will begin at the Anchor Bar Niagara Falls (located inside the Holiday Inn Hotel, 114 Buffalo Ave.). Guests aged 21 and over are encouraged to wear their most festive Santa hats, ugly sweaters and holiday-themed costumes and join in the fun at any point in the evening. Admission will be collected at any of the participating bars for $10 each.
Guests must show proper ID to participate. There is no preregistration.
The $10 admission price provides participants free parking at the Anchor Bar, entry in the costume contest, the ability to purchase raffle tickets, food and drink specials, and the ability to ride the Discover Niagara Shuttle from location to location that evening.
In addition to the Anchor Bar, guests will visit the bar inside the Hyatt Place, The Craft Kitchen and Bar, and Wine on Third before landing at Chill 443 (located inside the Wyndham Garden Hotel, 443 Main St.) for the evening’s final festivities, hosted by Premier Sound DJs. Each location will have food and drink specials available.
Guests will be able to enter various “Santa Con” raffles for prizes from participating locations. One guest will also be chosen for the best costume prize, consisting of an overnight stay and breakfast for two at the DoubleTree Niagara Falls. Guests must be present to win prizes.
“We had more than 100 guests join in the fun last year,” said Chris MacKendrick, DNFBA chairperson. “Everyone had such a great time at last year’s ‘Santa Con’ that we knew we were going to plan this as an annual event.”
Guests are encouraged to wear festive gear, have fun and drink responsibly. In addition to partnering with the Discover Niagara Shuttle to bring guests from stop to stop, the following hotels are offering special overnight rates that evening: Comfort Inn – The Pointe (716-284-6835); Courtyard by Marriott (716-284-2222); Holiday Inn (716-285-2521); Hyatt Place (716-278-8803); Sheraton Niagara Falls (716-278-2695); and the Wyndham Garden Hotel (716-278-2695). Mention “Jingle Falls” when booking.
The DNFBA is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is “to stimulate, enhance and nurture an inviting atmosphere for civic, cultural, social and economic activities in Downtown Niagara Falls, NY.” Admission and raffle proceeds benefit the DNFBA.
