Installation of new sod at the DeGlopper Memorial currently under work will take place beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 27.
“Grab a friend and lend a hand. As the proverb says, ‘Many hands make light work,’ said Dan Robillard of the DeGlopper Memorial Expansion Committee.
Anyone willing and able is invited to attend. Committee member Chris Taylor said volunteers will lay 34,000 square feet of sod at the park, located at the intersection of Baseline Road and Grand Island Boulevard.
The effort is part of the ongoing park expansion. Thursday, a large crane arrived at the park for setting granite, said committee member Dan Drexelius.
