Ash Wednesday & 'Celtic Spirituality Day' retreats at Stella Niagara's Center of Renewal

Stella Niagara’s Center of Renewal invites the public to “come enjoy our interfaith hospitality” during two special daytime retreats during March.

Ash Wednesday Interfaith Retreat Day is scheduled for Wednesday, March 6, and is presented by Sister Jean Thompson, OSF. The retreat will be from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., and will include distribution of ashes and lunch, with onsite check-in and coffee starting at 8:15 a.m. Pre-register by Feb. 27 by calling 716-754-7376, ext. 2.

“Celtic Spirituality: An Overview” will be held Wednesday, March 20, and feature presentations by the Rev. Dr. Rex T. Stewart, First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown; Sister Colleen Shanahan, OSF, of Stella Niagara; and Peter Green, worship and liturgical musician at United Baptist-Christian Church in Lewiston, and program leader. Participants will gain an overview of Celtic spirituality from varied perspectives by the three presenters, and learn about several key aspects of Celtic spirituality via words, art and music.
