Sixty-six stores to collect donations at checkout to benefit local food banks during December
Price Rite Marketplace has announced its annual "Check Out Hunger" fundraising campaign, which raises funds to benefit local food banks in communities served by Price Rite Marketplace stores across the northeast.
Through Dec. 29, 66 Price Rite Marketplace stores will raise funds by collecting donations of $1, $3 or $5 from shoppers at checkout, providing customers with a convenient way to help feed hungry families in their communities. All donations from the point-of-sale fundraising campaign will benefit local hunger-fighting charities and organizations. Price Rite Marketplace contributes approximately $500,000 annually to local food banks and food pantries.
"We are proud to continue the fight against food insecurity through our annual 'Check Out Hunger' fundraising campaign," said Jim Dorey, president, Price Rite Marketplace. "Fighting hunger in our communities is a core component of our charitable efforts, and we appreciate the support of our generous customers and the dedication of our associates, whose contributions help us to make a difference in the areas we serve."
Price Rite Marketplace stores deliver a simplified shopping experience with top name-brand foods and products and expanded fresh produce and organic offerings at exceptional prices. Since 2002, Price Rite has raised over $1.6 million for the "Check Out Hunger" initiative to benefit 22 Feeding America Food Banks in eight states, including the Food Bank of Western New York.
