Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin, who topped first-year blueliners and ranked fourth among all rookies with 10 points in 15 games (1 goal, 9 assists), was named the NHL's Rookie of the Month for November.
Dahlin edged Vancouver Canucks center Elias Pettersson (6/6 in 14 games), Ottawa Senators teammates Brady Tkachuk (6/4 in 11) and Colin White (5/5 in 14), and Los Angeles Kings goaltender Cal Petersen (4-4-0, 2.41 GAA, .929 SV%, 1 shutout in nine games) for the honor.
Dahlin logged an average of 19:54 for a Buffalo team that completed an 11-3-1 November to move into second place in the NHL's overall standings (17-7-3, 37 points). That included a 10-game winning streak from Nov. 8-27, equaling a franchise record also achieved from Jan. 4-23, 1984, and Oct. 4-26, 2006.
Dahlin, the No. 1 overall pick in 2018 NHL Draft, also ranked second among all rookies with a -plus-9 rating, logging an even or positive plus/minus in 12 of his 15 November appearances. The 18-year-old Lidkoping, Sweden, native - who has 14 points (2/12) in his first 27 career games - joins Pettersson (October) as a Rookie of the Month winner in 2018-19.
