Fundraiser to benefit the Carnegie Art Center
Join the Carnegie Art Center to celebrate the fourth annual Art Off The Wall exhibition and fundraiser to benefit the CAC in North Tonawanda. Art Off The Wall opens on Thursday, Nov. 29, and will give visitors a unique opportunity to purchase original 5x7-inch artwork. Local artists supporting the Carnegie Art Center have donated all works priced at $20 each.
For a $10 donation fee at the door for Carnegie Art Center members, and a $15 donation fee for non-members, patrons can attend the event from 6-9 p.m., while enjoying a complimentary drink and hors d'oeuvres. Also, pre-purchase a $20 FASTPASS online from the Carnegie website to reserve one of the first 1-50 purchasing forms, which gives first selections of the numerous 5x7s. The FASTPASS can be purchased at http://carnegieartcenter.org/art-off-the-wall/.
Those interested can become a new member of the CAC the night of the fundraising event and the fee at the door is waived. All guests will have an early previewing of artwork from 6-6:45 p.m. Selling starts promptly at 7 p.m.
During the event there is a great deal of excitement and anticipation of obtaining one's selection. Patrons walk away with their purchase that evening and also have an opportunity to have it framed on site as Partners in Art Complex offers framing services for a cost. A portion of the framing proceeds is donated to the CAC.
Also, the fine art silent auction returns for its second year at the AOTW event. This year's theme, 12 Buy 12, includes local and national award-winning artists auctioning an original stretched canvas, with proceeds split 50/50 between the artists and the CAC.
This year's fine art silent auction artists include: Charles Clough, Doreen Cutting, Lincoln Cutting, Malcolm Bonney, Steve Rovner, Peter Fowler, Bruce Blair, MJ Myers, George Grace, J Tim-Raymond, Pat Pendleton, Robert Harris, Jonathan Rogers, Michael Margulis, Tina Dillman, Jack Edson, Gerald Mead, Catherine Tillou, Gary Wolfe, Wendy Maloney, Sandra Bartz, David Corbett, Richard Christian and Joe Ziolkowski.
The Carnegie Art Center is located in a structure built in 1904 as the City of North Tonawanda's public library and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Since 1975, the Carnegie, has been operating as a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit corporation offering the community art exhibitions, art and dance classes, as well as support to artists and art organizations.
