Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center will honor a prominent Western New York physician and family for their service to the hospital and the community at the 2019 Premier, Memorial's annual black time gala. The event will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019 at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino, 310 Fourth St., Niagara Falls.
Neil Dashkoff, M.D., joined Memorial in 2017 as the medical director of Niagara Country's first and only cardiac catheterization lab, which is located in The Heart Center of Niagara and is a collaboration with Catholic Health, Kaleida and ECMC. Dashkoff is a well-respected cardiologist and clinical professor of medicine at UB's Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. In addition, Dashkoff is a member of numerous professional societies, including the American College of Cardiology, Society for Cardiac Angiography, New York Cardiological Society and American Heart Association.
Dashkoff's enthusiastic leadership contributes greatly to the continued success of the cath lab. His passion and tireless efforts to teach and promote Memorial's cardiac services make him the ideal candidate for this recognition.
When it comes to going above and beyond to serve the community, there is no family worthier of acknowledgment for their seemingly endless generosity than Antonio Strangio (center) and his sons Anthony (left) and Frank, owners of Quality Inn, Antonio's Banquet Center and Wingate by Wyndham Hotel.
Along with enthusiasm and passion, the Strangio family's leadership has been a major factor in the expansion of tourism in Niagara Falls, and their commitment to customer service is the reason Antonio's is considered "the" spot for any event. Providing us all with role models to follow, the Strangio family is most deserving of this recognition.
The Strangio family will receive the Nancy Gara Spirit Award. The award is presented in memory of a Western New York banking executive and former medical center board member who was renowned for her positive attitude and personal commitment to serving the community.
Proceeds from the 2019 Premier will be dedicated to Memorial's imaging services. This event sells out early every year. For tickets and information on sponsorship and donation opportunities, call the Memorial Medical Center Foundation at 716-278-4605.
