US service academies to provide admission details at informational meeting on Oct. 15
Congressman Brian Higgins and representatives from the office of U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand are hosting Service Academy Night 2018, an opportunity for high school students, families, school administrators and counselors to learn more about service academy institutions, programs and the application process.
Service Academy Night will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at Williamsville South High School, 5950 Main St.
Service Academy appointments are made by the president of the United States based on congressional and/or military nominations. Each year, Gillibrand and Higgins appoint academy advisory boards, made up of Western New York veterans and community leaders, to interview all applicants and make recommendations.
Those planning on attending Service Academy Night should RSVP to Habiba Mohamed from Gillibrand's office at [email protected]
or 716-854-9725; or to Evelyn Williams from Higgins' office at [email protected]
