Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino is predicting a holiday heatwave when the "98° at Christmas" 2018 tour comes to the Seneca Niagara Events Center at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14. Tickets go on sale at noon on Friday.
98° formed in the mid-1990s and shot to stardom following the release of their self-titled 1997 debut album and its hit single "Invisible Man." Known for their vocal stylings and harmonies, as well as their mix of pop and R&B, the band went on to produce hit singles "Because of You," "The Hardest Thing," "Thank God I Found You" and "My Everything." After a nearly 10-year hiatus, 98° came back together, picking up where they left off, performing to sold-out audiences across the U.S. and Canada. The band released its second Christmas album, "Let It Snow," in 2017.
The 2018 tour will feature of mix of holiday songs, personal favorites and 98° hits. Tickets start at $25.
Comedy, Rock Tributes Heat Up Bear's Den Showroom
The Bear's Den Showroom inside Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino will heat things up this December. New shows announced include: comedian Jay Pharoah on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 7-8 (8 p.m.); Rick Alviti's "That's The Way It Was Christmas Special - A Tribute to Elvis" at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 14-15; and "Damn The Torpedoes: A Tribute to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers" on Friday, Dec. 28 (8 p.m.). Tickets go on sale at noon on Friday.
Pharoah is a noted stand-up comedian, actor, impressionist and rapper who rose to prominence as a cast member on "Saturday Night Live." Some of his most recognizable impressions during his time on "SNL" included President Barack Obama, Ben Carson, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Will Smith, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock and Denzel Washington. In addition to his stand-up and television performances, Pharoah has appeared in several motion pictures and television programs. (Tickets start at $65.)
Alviti's "That's The Way It Was" is a high-energy show full of audience interaction. Alviti sings the greatest songs of Elvis' career and moves just like "The King." In this special rendition, Alviti celebrates the magic and music of the holidays in grand fashion. (Tickets start at $40.)
