Chander joins pathology staff at Memorial

Ankush Chander, M.D., M.Sc., has joined the medical staff at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center as assistant director of medical laboratories.
Chander earned his medical degree at Manipal University's Kasturba Medical College in India, followed by a master's degree in medical sciences from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. A former chief resident in anatomic and clinical pathology at Baystate Health System/University of Massachusetts Medical School, he subsequently completed a post-doctoral fellowship in oncologic surgical pathology at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Chander is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology and in general pathology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He was appointed to the Council on Accreditation for the College of American Pathologist in 2016.
Chander has published more than a dozen peer-reviewed studies and abstracts on thrombosis and hemostasis, surgical pathology and biomarker testing. He served as a clinical instructor at the Tufts University School of Medicine and the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo. He has received multiple awards for excellence in teaching and patient care.
