The Grand Island Holiday Inn Express is now a reality.
"The Grand Island supervisor's office is proud to announce that the Holiday Inn Express, located at 2761 Long Road, is now open," Grand Island Town Supervisor Nate McMurray announced Tuesday. The property, formerly home to Hooker Chemical and later Dunlop, stood vacant for approximately 40 years, according to the supervisor's office.
Western New York resident Jayesh Patel, CEO of Rudra Management and Rosewood Hotels, renovated the building inside and out and has made "significant improvements to the property," the supervisor's office said.
The Holiday Inn Express benefitted from a $1 million Restore New York grant.
The hotel is now taking room reservations at 716-775-0007. Patel said there would be a grand opening event in August.
