'Elder Law Day' provides community with no-cost legal and financial resources for older adults
On Monday, June 18 (8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.), at the Adam's Mark Hotel, Center for Elder Law & Justice and Erie County Senior Services present "Elder Law Day." This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required for consultations, parking reimbursement and complementary lunch. To register, visit erie.gov/ELD or call 716-858-6864.
"Elder Law Day" features 15-minute, one-on-one consultations with attorneys, health insurance counselors, and case managers with registration. Throughout the day, there will be a host of presentations from local experts on topics such as long-term health care, legal issues for LGBT seniors, patients' rights when transitioning to a nursing home and estate planning. In addition, there will be dozens of community agencies on site to discuss resources and how they can help with the needs of the aging.
"We are thrilled to co-host this event with Erie County Senior Services. 'Elder Law Day' is so important to our agency, because it gives access to many vital resources that the aging population and their caregivers need. As the aging population grows, CELJ will continue to be out in the community listening and responding to the unique needs of Western New Yorkers," said Karen Nicolson, CEO of CELJ.
