John Popper of Blues Traveler will perform at the Tralf Music Hall in Buffalo on Sunday, April 29.
Popper's legacy looms far and wide among the jam band scene. Fronting Blues Traveler throughout the '90s, Popper built a rabid following over a blend of blues and psychedelic rock - all woven together by his soulful voice and unique harmonica playing.
Incidentally, Blues Traveler were also one of the first of their ilk to crossover and achieve mainstream success, thanks to their 1995 hit "Runaround." Although Blue Traveler continues to flourish on both record and on stage, Popper thrives on various projects and consistently provides the unexpected.
In his spare time, Popper has written songs with both Johnny Lang and Trey Anastasio of Phish, while his trademark harmonica has graced songs by artists as diverse as Dolly Parton, Metallica and Taj Mahal.
