Assemblyman Angelo J. Morinello, R-Niagara Falls, announced Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb, R-Canandaigua, has appointed him to serve on the Assembly judiciary committee.
Morinello said he would look to draw from career experiences in this new role, as he is the only member of the judiciary committee who has presided as a judge in the past.
"It is a great privilege to be appointed on the judiciary committee and I'm eager to use my past experiences as a judge to work on behalf of my constituents," Morinello said. "We're living in a dangerous time where a lack of transparency and ongoing corruption scandals continue to steal headlines. As a member of the judiciary committee, I'll ask the tough questions and work to ensure total accountability by all. I am pleased that Leader Kolb appointed me to serve on the judiciary committee and I'm confident that my judicial experience will greatly benefit my fellow committee members and the residents of New York."
In addition to his new role, Morinello will continue working on the committees on codes, housing, labor, tourism, parks, arts and sports development and veterans' affairs.
Morinello represents the 145th Assembly District, which consists of parts of Erie and Niagara countries. For more information, visit Morinello's official website.
