Amherst Chamber of Commerce President A.J. Baynes announced former WKBW-TV Channel 7 anchor Joanna Pasceri is joining the chamber as its senior director of communications and marketing. Pasceri spent the past two years as the first public information officer for the Erie County district attorney, where her efforts increased the visibility and transparence of the office.
"Joanna managed an unprecedented flow of information from the DA's office to the public it serves," Baynes said. "Her communications expertise and diverse media experience will raise the profile of our members and the business community at large."
Pasceri is a veteran of the television news business, serving as the former co-anchor of the main newscasts on WKBW-TV, where she worked for 22 years.
She joined the Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday.
"The Amherst Chamber is recognized all over the region thanks to the hard work of its longtime CEO Colleen DiPirro and, now with the capable, energetic A.J. Baynes at the helm, I look forward to helping him build on that success," Pasceri said. "We provide so many benefits to the community and I look forward to increasing recognition for our value and expanding our influence."
Pasceri will be leading the communications and marketing efforts of the chamber by promoting its strategic plan, increasing member services and sharing the stories of the businesses that are the backbone of the local economy.
"As a native Western New Yorker, I am grateful for the opportunity to help the region I call home grow and thrive," Pasceri said.
