'The Grill Dads' with Mark Anderson and Ryan Fey premieres Friday, Dec. 15; 'Eat, Sleep, BBQ' with Rashad Jones premieres Saturday, Dec. 16
After six weeks of working with the most promising prospects on "Guy's Big Project," Guy Fieri's search for Food Network's next big culinary-travel series concluded with an unexpected twist, when two food-road shows were selected to become new primetime series.
The surprising reveal that two series were greenlit for Food Network took place following Sunday night's finale with sneak peek airings of both new series, including "The Grill Dads" with duo Mark Anderson and Ryan Fey, and "Eat, Sleep, BBQ" with Rashad Jones.
"I didn't know what was going to happen when we started this wild-ride of a journey and I am so thrilled at how it all turned out," Fieri said. "I wanted to give someone the same opportunity that I had been given, and I couldn't be more excited for Mark, Ryan and Rashad to realize their dreams of having a series on Food Network."
"We are thrilled to welcome Mark, Ryan and Rashad into the Food Network family. Throughout the journey on 'Guy's Big Project,' Mark's and Ryan's energetic personalities and ability to convey their excitement for grilling on camera made them stand out, while Rashad's relatability, passion and first-hand knowledge about barbecue made him shine," said Courtney White, senior vice president, programming, Scripps Networks Interactive.
Beginning on Friday, Dec. 15 (9:30 p.m. ET/PT), "The Grill Dads" are hitting the road on the ultimate dad food adventure, eating their way through some of the best food in America.
As lifelong friends, Anderson and Fey share a love for two things: being dads and grilling. Now, this duo is discovering dishes that are outrageous, over the top, and full of flavor throughout the season. They are tasting it all, from meals that kids would go crazy for, to unexpected twists on classics, and to global cuisine stateside.
As a self-proclaimed barbecue nerd, Jones lives, breathes, eats all things BBQ, and, on Saturday, Dec. 16 (9 p.m. ET/PT), he is embarking on the road trip of his dreams to meet the people who share his passion.
As a barbecue chef and restaurant owner, he is on a search to uncover the best BBQ in the country - from the traditional to the new and innovative - on "Eat, Sleep, BBQ." Each of the episodes celebrate the full sensory barbecue experience - from the smell of wood burning and meat smoking, to the sight of a piled-high plate full of pulled pork, to the feeling of sauce dripping down one's hands from slow-cooked baby back ribs, to that first mouthwatering taste of the first bite of brisket.
