NBC Sports to present 'Road to the NHL Winter Classic' docuseries on NBCSN beginning Dec. 13

Critically acclaimed four-week series premieres immediately following Bruins-Red Wings on 'Wednesday Night Rivalry'
NBC Sports will present the critically acclaimed "Road to the NHL Winter Classic Presented by Honda" docuseries this year on NBCSN, taking viewers behind the scenes as the Buffalo Sabres and New York Rangers prepare for the 2018 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic on Jan. 1, 2018, on NBC.
The four-week, 30-minute limited series will premiere on NBCSN on Wednesday, Dec. 13, immediately following the Boston Bruins vs. Detroit Red Wings on "Wednesday Night Rivalry." All four episodes will air on NBCSN immediately following live NHL coverage. "Road to the NHL Winter Classic Presented by Honda" is produced by 53-time Emmy Award winner Ross Greenburg in partnership with NHL Original Productions.
"With the 10th anniversary of the NHL Winter Classic just weeks away, we're thrilled to present 'Road To The NHL Winter Classic' episodes on NBCSN," said Jon Miller, president, programming, NBC Sports Group. "The NHL Winter Classic has provided players and fans with unforgettable memories, dating back to our inaugural game in Buffalo a decade ago. We're excited to give viewers an in-depth look at what makes the NHL Winter Classic so special, as the Sabres and Rangers prepare for New Year's Day at Citi Field on NBC."
Following is a full schedule of "Road to the NHL Winter Classic Presented by Honda" premiere episodes on NBCSN. Note - all episodes will air following live NHL coverage on NBCSN, with start times subject to change.
Full episodes will also be available on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app, and will also air on NHL Network.
Both the Sabres and Rangers will be making their second appearance in the NHL Winter Classic. Buffalo hosted the first-ever NHL Winter Classic against the Pittsburgh Penguins, a 2-1 shootout loss in front of 71,217 fans at Ralph Wilson Stadium on Jan. 1, 2008. New York defeated the hometown Philadelphia Flyers at Citizens Bank Park at the 2012 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic on Jan. 2, 2012, by a score of 3-2.
