For knowledge junkies around the country, there is only one fall television premiere that matters: "Jeopardy!" kicks off its 34th season in syndication Monday, Sept. 11. The winner of the 2017 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Game Show, "Jeopardy!" and its host, Alex Trebek, return once again to deliver the rapid-fire "answers and questions," challenging gameplay, and memorable contestant moments that are the hallmarks of "America's Favorite Quiz Show."
"Jeopardy!" airs locally at 7:30 p.m. on WIVB-TV Channel 4.
Season highlights include the latest editions of popular events, including the Tournament of Champions, College Championship and Teachers Tournament.
Also, throughout season 34, fans can look forward to the debut of new ways to play "Jeopardy!" at home or on the go. The "Jeopardy!" Skill for Amazon Alexa continues to grow in popularity, with more than a million players and counting, and "Teen Jeopardy!" and "Sports Jeopardy!" editions have recently been added to the platform. "Jeopardy! World Tour," the show's first-ever free-to-play mobile game (available on iOS and Android), invites players to test their knowledge with thousands of clues across a wide range of categories and compete against other members of the global "Jeopardy!" community and their friends.
Additionally, Mattel has debuted a "Jeopardy!" card game, now available for purchase, while a new console game from Ubisoft will launch in late 2017. Also, viewers can visit www.Jeopardy.com every weekday to play "J!6," the online game where users can play the sixth clue from each category in that day's show.
With 23 million viewers each week, "Jeopardy!" is the top-rated quiz show on television, and has won several awards and distinctions over the course of its 30-plus years on the air, including the 2017 Emmy for Outstanding Game Show. The show holds a Guinness World Records mark for the most Emmy Awards won by a TV game show (34); it is also the recipient of a 2011 Peabody Award.
