Food Bank of WNY names 3 new members to board of directors

Michael J. Prendergast, chairperson of the Food Bank of WNY's board of directors, has announced Kristen Hanson, Steven Jezioro and Vincent Miranda were elected to the board during the recent annual meeting.
Hanson is vice president of center store and pharmacy merchandising at Tops Markets. She leads all functions of sales and merchandising in the center store areas of the business, including edible and non-food grocery, dairy/frozen, general merchandise, health and beauty care, pharmacy and fuel.
Hanson serves on the Food Bank of WNY's resource development committee. She resides in Amherst.
Jezioro is a CPA and is the manager of internal audit for Rich Products Corp. Prior to his current position, he worked for a regional public accounting firm for more than six years, serving a diverse base of clients. He also worked in corporate accounting at Rich's.
Jezioro serves as the assistant treasurer on the Food Bank of WNY's executive committee and is a member of the organization's finance and "Walk Off Hunger" committees. He is a Lancaster resident.
Miranda is a senior associate with Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman LLP, where he works in the litigation and labor and employment practice groups. He focuses his practice on counseling businesses in the most cost-efficient manner through the various issues and disputes presented by employees, competitors and vendors. Miranda also devotes a significant amount of his practice to general business and commercial litigation. Prior to joining Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman, Miranda was an appellate court attorney with the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Fourth Judicial Department, where he worked on cases involving commercial law, employment law, criminal law and arbitration appeals.
He is a member of the Food Bank of WNY's personnel committee, and resides in East Amherst.
"Kristen, Steven and Vincent are welcome additions to our exceptional board of directors," Prendergast said. "Their unique talents and collective passion for helping the community will be great assets to the Food Bank of WNY as we continue to fight hunger one day at a time."
Additionally, the Food Bank of WNY's board of directors elected the following to its 2017-18 executive committee: John F. Dunbar Jr., University at Buffalo School of Management - chair emeritus; Michael J. Mann, P.E.; McMahon & Mann Consulting Engineers, P.C. - chair emeritus; Prendergast, M&T Bank - chairperson; Jerry Sheldon, community volunteer - vice chairperson; Tim Wangler, Wegmans Food Markets Inc. - secretary; Tom Berical, CPA, Freed Maxick CPAs, P.C. - treasurer; and Jezioro - assistant treasurer.
The Food Bank of WNY is the primary hunger-relief organization in Western New York, obtaining and distributing food to 341 member agencies, including food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, youth programs and senior centers in Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties. Through these agencies, the Food Bank of WNY serves as many as 134,955 individuals in any given month, including more than 44,000 families, 55,000 children and infants, and nearly 16,500 seniors.
