Seneca Gaming executive joins Memorial board

Michael R. Kimelberg, senior vice president for corporate strategy and development at Seneca Gaming Corp., has been elected to a three-year term on the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center board of directors.
Nationally renowned as an urban planner - his involvement in major residential and mixed-use projects reaches as far west as California and south to Texas and Mississippi - Kimelberg holds a master's degree in urban planning from the University of Washington and has received awards for excellence from the American Institute of Architects and the State of Washington Office of the Governor.
Prior to accepting his position at Seneca Gaming Corp., he served as chief operating officer of the Seneca Nation of Indians, directing the nation's internal operations, playing a key role in the growth of its economy, and guiding the implementation of numerous community development projects, including new housing, schools and cultural facilities. He previously was the nation's chief planning officer.
Kimelberg is an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation, and is of the Bear Clan. He is a member of the Seneca Nation investment management board, Buffalo Zoo board of trustees and Buffalo & Erie County Naval & Military Park board of directors. His professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Planners, American Planning Association, and Urban Land Institute City Leadership Council.
