Event is part of commissioner's statewide tour to promote local hiring
New York State Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon announced the fifth Recruitment Day in her statewide tour will be held Monday, June 19, at the Buffalo Career Center, located at 284 Main St., Buffalo. The event will run from 1:30-4 p.m., with 13 businesses offering 314 job opportunities expected to attend.
"Recruitment events are always exciting for businesses and job seekers alike," Reardon said. "For businesses, these events offer a unique opportunity to survey local talent and for job seekers. They offer the face-to-face meeting that can make the difference in getting that new job they're after. The Department of Labor is pleased to be able to facilitate these events and I look forward to a productive day in Buffalo!"
At Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo's direction, Reardon has been traveling throughout the state in order to facilitate Recruitment Day events to promote hiring local workers. She has also been meeting with union leadership to discuss regional issues.
All events are free of charge for both businesses and job seekers.
Job seekers are encouraged to dress professionally and bring several copies of their resumes.
