On Tuesday, the United Way of Greater Niagara and the Salvation Army partnered up with Hard Rock Cafe, Niagara Falls USA, for "Dine to Make a Difference." This event gave locals an easy way to help donate to organizations making a difference in the community.
"We are encouraging people to go to local restaurants in the Niagara Falls and Lewiston area for lunch and dinner," UWGN President Connie Brown said. "Our expectations are that we hope people are aware of this event and start to participate in it every year."
Capt. Stephanie Carroll, commanding officer of The Salvation Army of Greater Niagara Falls, originally brought this idea for "Dine to Make a Difference" from Staten Island.
The United Way of Greater Niagara has brought "Dine to Make a Difference" to 10 local restaurants, including: Hard Rock, Chili's, Wine on Third, The Craft Kitchen and Bar, The Sunshine Café, The Third Street Retreat Eatery and Pub, Tony Roma's on Buffalo, The Brickyard Pub & B.B.Q. and Buffalo Wild Wings.
Proceeds will support The United Way of Greater Niagara as well as The Salvation Army of Greater Niagara to help provide food and health for the less fortunate in the Niagara Falls area.
