The Temptations and The Four Tops among soulful acts headed to Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in May

Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino announced a May entertainment lineup that will bring a pair of legendary shows to the Seneca Niagara Events Center. Motown legends The Temptations and The Four Tops will perform at 8 p.m. Friday, May 12.

Experience the R&B influence of the '90s when Bell Biv Devoe performs with Guy, En Vogue and SWV at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 27. Tickets go on sale at noon Friday, Feb. 24.

The Temptations began their musical life in the early 1960s and have propelled American pop music in the 50 years since. The group has produced an avalanche of hits, including "The Way You Do the Things You Do," "Get Ready," "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," "I Wish It Would Rain" and "I Can't Get Next to You," to name just a few.

The Four Tops were often found at the top of the charts in the 1960s and '70s. The group gave listeners such classics as "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)," "It's The Same Old Song," "Reach Out I'll Be There," "Standing In The Shadows of Love" and "Bernadette."

Bell Biv Devoe, known widely as BBD, fused hip-hop beats, bad-boy attitude and R&B harmonies to create some of the signature sounds of the 1990s. The group's debut album, "Poison," sold over 4 million copies, and the group produced such hit songs as "Poison," "Do Me!" "BBD (I Thought It Was Me)," "When Will I See You Smile Again" and "Something In Your Eyes."

Formed in Harlem, Guy helped create the new jack swing style of the era, offering up such R&B hits as "Groove Me," "I Like," "Let's Chill," and "Do Me Right."

From their start in the early 1990s, En Vogue was a musical powerhouse with powerful voices. The group has sold more than 20 million records worldwide, burning up the airwaves with hits such as "Hold On," "My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It)," "Giving Him Something He Can Feel," "Free Your Mind" and "Don't Let Go (Love)."

SWV (Sisters With Voices) became one of the most successful R&B acts of the 1990s, earning their place as one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. Among their hit songs are "I'm So Into You," "Weak," "Right Here/Human Nature," "Downtown" and "You're The One."

At 8 p.m. May 20, inside the Bear's Den Showroom, soul and funk stars Average White Band will take the stage. Best known for their timeless instrumental mega-hit "Pick Up the Pieces," the band's career has led to several gold-selling albums and multiple Grammy nominations. Songs include "Schoolboy Crush," "Stop the Rain," "Cloudy," and "A Love of Your Own."

At 8 p.m. May 26, Grammy Award-winning icon Jody Watley performs inside the Bear's Den. Watley ranks as one of the "Greatest Dance Club Artists of All Time" according to Billboard Magazine, with hits including "Don't You Want Me" and "Looking For A New Love". Watley was also the original lead female vocalist for Shalamar, giving voice to songs "Take That To The Bank" and "A Night to Remember." This funky and eclectic dance party pairs Watley with Shalamar.
