This summer at Artpark, Philip Burke, a Buffalo-born artist whose work has adorned the pages of Vanity Fair, Vogue, Time and Rolling Stone, is painting outdoor headliners.

He is completing paintings of the performers just steps away from the stage - for all to see - as the music plays.

Burke is shown next to his painting of the Barenaked Ladies, which was raffled off this past Tuesday.

He also will paint Blue Rodeo (June 21), The Band Perry (July 5) and Ben Folds (July 13). An original painting will be raffled off to one fan at the end of each show.

Raffle tickets are $10 each. They can be purchased prior to the show at www.artpark.net or www.tickets.com, by phone at 1-888-223-6000, or in person at the Artpark box office, 450 S. Fourth St., Lewiston. Raffle tickets will also be sold throughout the night at the merchandise stands inside the venue. A variety of Burke merchandise, including an exclusive Artpark poster, will be available for purchase at all outdoor concerts.

Proceeds from the painting raffle will benefit Artpark's Rock Workshop program for teen musicians. (Photo by Joshua Maloni)
