Buffalo Sabres extend forward Johan Larsson

The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team signed forward Johan Larsson to a one-year contract.

Larsson (age 23, 5'11", 200 pounds) set career-high marks in games played (74), goals (10) and points (17) in his first full NHL season in 2015-16. Five of his 10 goals were game-winners, tying Jack Eichel for the Sabres' team lead. Larsson also ranked second among the team's regular faceoff men with a career-best faceoff percentage of 51.1 percent.

A native of Lau, Sweden, Larsson has recorded 37 points (16 goals, 21 assists) and 58 penalty minutes in 142 games with the Sabres since being acquired from the Minnesota Wild on April 3, 2013.
