Followed by 'Beat the Champ,' 'Polka Buzz'

Chris Musial, vice president and general manager of WBBZ-TV, said it's "Game on" with the ESPN/ABC network telecast of the "NBA Sunday Showcase" Golden State Warriors at L.A. Lakers game airing live Sunday, March 6 (3 p.m.), starting with "NBA Countdown," on "Your Hometown MeTV Station."

A special airing of WBBZ-TV's bowling program "Beat The Champ," hosted by Paul Peck and Sue Nawojski, will follow the game with "Polka Buzz" then following.

The basketball game will feature two giants, with retiring 20-year veteran Kobe Bryant and the Lakers squaring off against MVP Stephen Curry and the NBA champion Golden State Warriors.

Musial said, "We are proud to air this exciting game, with two superstars of the NBA playing in what will likely be their final game together. This should prove to be one of the best match-ups of the year, with Golden State ranked first in the Pacific Division, against fifth-ranked Los Angeles. With the previously scheduled Variety Kid's Telethon, ABC chose WBBZ to present this 'NBA Showcase.' "

Musial continued, "Our hometown program, 'Beat The Champ,' will follow the game featuring top bowlers from Transit Lanes in Williamsville. 'Polka Buzz' will then round out the early evening before the MeTV primetime lineup (begins)."
