Buffalo hotel receives prestigious industry honor in the award's inaugural year

The Mansion on Delaware Avenue (MoDA), an award-winning hotel located in Buffalo, was recently recognized as a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame inductee.

In its inaugural year, the Hall of Fame recognized a highly selective number of businesses that have earned a Certificate of Excellence for five consecutive years - a rare industry milestone. The Certificate of Excellence awards best-in-class hospitality service and is given only to establishments that earn outstanding travel reviews on TripAdvisor, the world's largest travel site.

The honor reflects the MoDA's position among the top-performing 10 percent of hotels on TripAdvisor.

"We are humbled to receive this prestigious award, which is a testament to our team's dedication and commitment to the highest level of customer service," said Geno Principe, proprietor of The Mansion on Delaware Avenue. "We sincerely thank our guests who voted, for whom we strive to deliver amenities that create a memorable and enriching hotel experience."

MoDA's rich history is punctuated by a series of milestone "firsts" that distinguish it both regionally and nationally among the industry's elite:

  • First and only AAA 4 Diamond hotel in Buffalo, and the first in Western New York
  • First and only Buffalo and Western New York hotel to receive Zagat designation of "perfection" for service
  • First and only Historic Hotels of America hotel in Western New York
  • First Buffalo landmark to become a lodging destination, at a time where the city's historic buildings were converted to commercial office space

The hotel's vision to infuse old world elegance with 21st century relevance continues to drive its growth. Today, it consistently ranks among TripAdvisor's top hotels in the city.

"The Mansion on Delaware was founded, more than 17 years ago, with a vision to provide a world-class hospitality destination that blends Second Empire architecture with modern elegance and comforts," said Diana Principe, partner at MoDA. "This year's recognition from TripAdvisor underscores our mission to continually deliver this same vision for our patrons."

TripAdvisor established the Hall of Fame award to spotlight the elite number of hotels that have met its prestigious Certificate of Excellence standards for half a decade. TripAdvisor determines Certificate of Excellence honorees by evaluating the quality, quantity and timeliness of reviews and opinions submitted by travelers over a 12-month period as well as business's tenure and ranking on the site's Popularity Index. To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.

The Mansion on Delaware Avenue is butler-serviced. The hotel also covets the Officier Maitre Hotelier or "national golden plate award" of Chaine des Rotisseurs for its culinary expertise. For more information, visit www.mansionondelaware.com.
