The 2015 Niagara County Fair will kick-off at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, with the popular Farm-City Breakfast, sponsored again this year by the Niagara County Community College. This hearty breakfast, served under the large food tent on the fairgrounds, will include sausages, eggs, hash browns, sweet rolls, Welches juice, milk and coffee served family style.
More than 500 people enjoyed the 2014 breakfast. Tickets may be purchased for $7 at the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Niagara County administration office located at 4487 Lake Ave., Lockport, or the day of the breakfast. Volunteer servers from RealtyUSA will again help out.
The theme for this year's fair is "Grow with Pride in Niagara." Earlier this year, CCE held its annual fair logo contest, open to Niagara County youth ages 5 to 19 years. Andrea Falsone, a graduate of Lockport High School, drew the winning logo. She is planning on studying computer animation at Savannah College of Art and Design. Andrea is involved in many clubs, including Warlocks 1507 Robotics Team, Lockport Community Television, Artscape, National Junior Honor Society and Students Against Destructive Decisions. She is a watercolor student at Market Street Art Center and also enjoys horseback riding.
The top 10 contest entrants will be recognized during the Farm-City Breakfast while all the submitted logos will be displayed during the fair.
The Niagara County Fair will run from Aug. 5-9 and include new entertainment, food, 4-H animals and exhibits, local vendors and much more - all in a family-friendly atmosphere.
Net proceeds from the fair support CCE-Niagara County programming. The annual event supports local families, children, farmers and communities.
