North Tonawanda City Clerk/Treasurer Daniel R. Quinn would like to extend the opportunity for North Tonawanda children in grades K-6 to participate in a Fourth of July writing contest.
The topic of the essay is "What does the Fourth of July mean to you." In 100 words or less, the child should describe what the special day means to them and how they celebrate. Children should also include a drawing or photo that represent their essay.
"I am hoping to encourage creativity, a sense of community, and family involvement in local government," Quinn said. "I believe that if kids are getting involved with events sponsored by local government at an early age, they will continue to be involved.
