Tyanna Jones eliminated Wednesday; top three finalists announced Wednesday, May 6, on FOX
The competition keeps getting hotter on "American Idol XIV." Wednesday night, host Ryan Seacrest revealed the top four finalists - Clark Beckham, Nick Fradiani, Jax and Rayvon Owen - who will move one note closer to winning the competition. Tyanna Jones of Jacksonville, Florida, was eliminated.
Also on "American Idol," country legend Martina McBride performed her hit single "Over the Rainbow." McBride mentored the ladies this week, while Jay DeMarcus from Rascal Flatts mentored the guys. Additionally, former "American Idol" judge, and rock legend, Steven Tyler stopped by the iconic Blackbird Studios in Nashville to give the contestants some advice. Plus, stepping out from behind the judges' table, Harry Connick Jr. took center stage and performed "City Beneath the Sea."
Next week, with the stakes higher than ever, the finalists will perform three songs each: one a judges' pick, one Scott Borchetta's pick and the third is the contestant's own pick to sing as a tribute to his or her hometown. Tune in Wednesday, May 6 (8 p.m.) to watch the top four return to their hometowns, and see which finalists make it to the top three and are head to the finale.
