Reid Stores Inc. has announced the grand opening celebration of its newest Crosby's convenience store in Amherst - a Crosby's and Coffee Culture Café and Eatery.

The formal grand opening, with a ribbon-cutting and prize giveaways, took place this morning.

Located at 4291 Maple Road, on the corner of Sweet Home Road, the new Crosby's and Coffee Culture will operate 24 hours per day, seven days a week.

Crosby's offers fresh, made-to-order pizza and wings in its Crosby's Corner Café, along with prepared food, convenience shopping, Crosby fuel and more.

For the next week, the new Crosby's and Coffee Culture will give away 100 free items to the first 100 customers each day. Other grand opening patron perks include drawings for a chance to win various prizes - an estimated $30,000 in giveaways.

Coffee Culture Café and Eatery provides whole roasted coffee beans that are blended and roasted to specifications to ensure freshly brewed coffee, espresso, lattes and cappuccinos. It also offers baked goods, which are made fresh daily; cakes; and grilled sandwiches and wraps.

"Crosby's is proud and excited to be a part of the Amherst community," said Doug Galli, vice president and general manager of Reid Stores. "Along with Coffee Culture, we're happy to provide Amherst residents and travelers with our signature exceptional customer service, food, convenience items, competitive pricing, fuel and more."

Made-to-order food is a big part of the Crosby's experience and the Amherst store. The Corner Café Pizzeria offers fresh-baked pizza, made with Crosby's own 100 percent whole milk mozzarella, served by the slice, whole or sheet. Signature calzones are available. In addition, the Crosby's menu features jumbo chicken wings.

The Crosby's store also features a f 'real milkshake and smoothie machine. Customers can treat themselves with a milkshake or watch the calories with a smoothie.

Amherst Crosby's fuel services, with a convenient pay-at-the-pump option, carry Crosby's gasoline and diesel fuel.

The new Amherst location also includes a partnership with Tops Friendly Markets at Maple and North Bailey. Tops shoppers at that location will be able to redeem their Tops GasPoints at the Crosby's Maple Road location to receive a discount on their fuel purchases.

Amherst-area residents and travelers can take advantage of free Wi-Fi access inside the store's seating area. Customers can utilize the free service designed to accommodate smartphones, laptops and other personal communication devices, all while enjoying a hot beverage, meal or snack.

The store carries a wide selection of cold beverages, dairy and frozen food, competitively priced grocery items and amenities including an ATM, prepaid wireless phone cards, gift cards and a full variety of lottery games.

The new Amherst Crosby's and Coffee Culture will employ approximately 40 people.
