The Center for the Arts, University at Buffalo, hosts Boyz II Men Saturday, Nov. 22, at 8 p.m. Tickets, $60, $50 and $40, go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.
As their first hit, "Motownphilly," climbed up the charts in 1991, R&B group Boyz II Men had no idea what would lie ahead. Four Grammys, 60 million albums sold, and 20 years later, the group continues to touch the ears of R&B lovers across the world.
For more than two decades, Boyz II Men has provided the R&B world with some of the most celebrated classics of all time. Shawn Stockman, Nathan Morris and Wanya Morris have used their vibrant harmonies over catchy hip-hop beats to capture an audience that spans across all generations. Their timeless hits include: "End of the Road," "I'll Make Love to You" and "One Sweet Day." The group continues to provide a mix of romance and harmony with its 11th album, titled "Collide," to be released this September.
Locally presented by The Derico of East Amherst Corp., the Boyz II Men concert proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Buffalo. Since opening its doors to families of seriously ill or injured children, the Ronald McDonald House of Buffalo has provided comfortable, affordable lodging for 18,000 families from Western New York and around the world. The Ronald McDonald House is a family's "home-away-from-home" when a child requires specialized medical care at a Buffalo hospital.
