Tournament benefits the hungry and homeless of Niagara County

Community Missions of Niagara Frontier will host its 13th annual "Par Fore a Mission Golf Classic" Wednesday, June 18, at Seneca Hickory Stick Golf Course in Lewiston.

The four-man scramble begins at 11 a.m. with registration and lunch, followed by a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Following the tournament, cocktail hour provides golfers with the opportunity to purchase 50/50 raffle and basket auction tickets, as well as the chance to view live auction items such as a Callaway driver, Callaway golf bag and more.

Currently, there are 22,426 people struggling economically in Niagara County. Community Missions serves and supports these individuals through programs such as the agency's crisis service programs, which include the community soup kitchen, food pantry, clothes closet and emergency housing shelter.

In 2013, the mission provided more than 75,000 meals and 10,000 nights of shelter to neglected or abused children and homeless adults. In addition, the agency provides support services and residential help to more than 1,000 individuals with mental illness.

All proceeds from the "Par Fore a Mission Golf Classic" will directly benefit these programs and assist in feeding the hungry and housing the homeless.

Since its founding in 1925, Community Missions has provided a unique blend of referral, crisis, community support, and residential services for youth and adults. For more information, visit www.communitymissions.org or connect via Facebook and/or Twitter.
