A prominent pediatrician and a local business executive have been named chairpersons of the 23rd annual Niagara Cup Classic, the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Foundation announced today.
Robert Gadawski, M.D., and Douglas Mooradian will chair the annual fundraiser for the medical center on Tuesday, June 3, at the Niagara Falls Country Club. The morning flight will tee off with a shotgun start at 7 a.m. with the afternoon flight hitting the links at 12:30 p.m.
Mooradian, who returns for a fifth year as the tournament's co-chair, is the director of business development and customer relations for Pine Pharmaceuticals. A former director of marketing and public relations at Health System Services, he is the recipient of the Niagara Falls Education Foundation' s 2013 Emerging Leader Alumni Award and is involved in a number of community organizations.
Gadawski, a board-certified pediatrician in private practice at Summit Pediatrics P.C., in Niagara Falls, is vice president of the medical staff at Niagara Falls Memorial. He was appointed to the medical staff in 1997 and has served as chief of the department of pediatrics since 1999.
Since the inaugural tournament in 1992, the Niagara Cup has raised more than $1 million for medical equipment and health care programs at Memorial Medical Center. The tournament is presented by the Medical Center Foundation.
Money raised at this year's tournament will support health care programming at the hospital, particularly cardiac and stroke services.
