Flute prodigy Emma Resmini to headline concert
Corpus Christi Church in Buffalo is pleased to announce 14-year-old child prodigy Emma Resmini is headlining its "In The Light" concert series at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5. This concert is in celebration of the Pauline Order of priest's 10th anniversary at Corpus Christi.
Resmini, a flutist, will perform selections by Mozart, Haydn and a movement from one of the flute concertos that Corpus Christi Director of Music István Hernek has composed for her, along with a chorale prelude for flute and orchestra composed to commemorate the Pauline's 10th anniversary at Corpus Christi. Resmini will perform with Corpus Christi's new chamber orchestra.
Before hitting the age of 12, Resmini graced stages as a soloist with the Dallas Symphony, National Symphony and Pittsburgh Symphony. This event will be her first appearance in Buffalo.
The concert is free and open to the public. Resmini also will perform at Corpus Christi's 11:30 a.m. Mass (prior to the concert).
The Order of Saint Paul the First Hermit (the Pauline Fathers) came to Buffalo in 2003 and took over ownership of Corpus Christi Church, saving it from closure. Since then, the church has undergone extensive restoration and still serves East Buffalo's Historic Polonia as it has since 1898.
