Two-night season finale featured superstar guest performances by Paulina Rubio, One Direction, Lea Michele, Pitbull, Mary J. Blige, Leona Lewis, Johnny Rzeznik and Prince Royce
The third season of "The X Factor" came to an exciting conclusion Thursday as Alex & Sierra, one of Simon Cowell's Groups, was crowned the winner during a special live two-hour season finale on FOX. Host Mario Lopez revealed that, following Wednesday night's performance show, Alex & Sierra had the highest number of votes over runner-up Jeff Gutt, one of Kelly Rowland's Over 25s, and second runner-up Carlito Olivero, one of Paulina Rubio's Boys.
Alex & Sierra, comprised of Alex Kinsey, 22, from New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; and Sierra Deaton, 22, from Orlando, Fla., emerged as America's choice and the winner of the coveted "The X Factor" title.
The star-studded two-night event featured performances from "The X Factor" judge and Latin pop sensation Paulina Rubio; the world's biggest boy band that rose to fame on the U.K. version of "The X Factor," One Direction; "Glee" star Lea Michele; world-renowned rapper Pitbull; and hip-hop singer-songwriter Mary J. Blige. The top three finalists performed alongside special guests, including Leona Lewis with Alex & Sierra, Johnny Rzeznik with Jeff Gutt, and Prince Royce with Carlito Olivero.
