Miracle League has visit from firefighters

The Miracle League of Grand Island and Western New York welcomed units from Sheridan Park, Niagara Falls and Grand Island for the league's second annual firefighters day at the ball diamond in Veterans Park.

Firefighters served as buddies for the players with special needs both on the basepaths and in the field.

Players and buddies enjoyed being hosed down by the fire trucks after the ballgame, including the GIFC ladder truck that reached left field with their water all the way from the road in Veterans Park.
