A large crowd of personnel and equipment from some 30 fire companies came to Lewiston last Saturday to pay tribute to one of their own, Youngstown Volunteer Fire Co. member Thomas J. Burley, who lost his life in a tragic motorcycle accident.

Center Street was lined with fire engines, and a large U.S. flag flew over the street as the funeral procession made its way from Rhoney Funeral Home to St. Peter's R.C. Church for a Mass of Christian Burial.

After the Mass, the flag-draped casket was placed back on a Youngstown Volunteer Fire Co. engine, and all the other pieces of equipment lined up and drove to Oakland Rural Cemetery in Youngstown for interment. (photos by Wayne Peters)
