Niagara Falls Country Club
With spring steadily approaching, the Niagara Falls Country Club already has a sense of being in full swing. Granted, golf season is a little ways off, but stop by on a Wednesday or Friday night and see if you can tell the difference. Our Wednesday "Happy Hour" events continue to draw large crowds with live entertainment and drink specials.
Beyond weekly and special events, renovations and updates have begun in the family areas of our club. The snack bar is being relocated into the side of clubhouse, while the old snack bar will serve as a children's center with programming and activities for children throughout the season.
Next to the children's center, the kiddie pool is being renovated for the season, along with minor renovation of the main pool. Adjacent to the pool area, construction will begin on a playground in the early spring. The playground will be a first at our club, adding to the programming for children.
A children's theater has been built on the top floor of the club. The theater has already been used for two "Parent's Night Out" events where parents were able to enjoy a fine dining experience, while kids ages 5 to 12 enjoyed a movie. Amenities include our brand-new, 60-inch flat screen and theater-style seating.
A new junior golf pro has been hired. Her name is Brittany Henderson. She is a member of the Coastal Carolina golf team and a three-time All-Big South Conference member. Originally from Smith Falls, Ontario, Brittany will be in charge of junior and peewee golf as well as ladies player development.
Beyond that, we officially have a new general manager, with the signing of interim manager Allan Irwin CCM, CCE, and a new assistant manager of food and beverage, Nick Crawford, a 2008 graduate of Niagara University.
