Assemblyman John Ceretto delivered more than 500 constituent emails to the office of Gov. Cuomo and spoke with him Wednesday asking for a full restoration of funding for developmental disability programs in this year's final budget. Both the State Assembly and the State Senate restored this crucial funding in their one house budget resolutions this week.

Ceretto personally delivered the messages of his constituents to the governor to ensure those struggling with developmental disabilities have adequate access to quality care.

He was fulfilling a promise he made at a rally last week. While speaking to the crowd, Ceretto pulled out the physical stack of emails that he had received asking for the restoration in funding. He told them their voices were being heard in his office and that he would personally hand deliver the emails to the governor.

"Ensuring the proper care of people coping with developmental disabilities is important both for the quality of life of the people who need care and the overall well-being of our communities," Ceretto said. "We are all directly or indirectly affected by these issues and should be working to improve the way we care for those who need a helping hand. I hope the governor stands with my constituents and restores this crucial aid to developmental disability care."
