Cornerstone Community Federal Credit Union, the largest locally owned credit union in Western New York, will celebrate the grand opening of its newest location on Wednesday, Jan. 23. The new branch is located at 721 Center St., in the Village of Lewiston.

All members of the community are invited to attend and take part in the special promotions. Guests can enter to win a five-day, four-night cruise for two. For the first 200 new members who open a free active checking account with direct deposit at the Lewiston branch, Cornerstone CFCU will put $75 into their accounts. When a member applies and receives a secured loan between now and March 29, Cornerstone CFCU will also put 1 percent cash back into the member's savings account.

"We encourage everyone from Lewiston and the surrounding communities to join us in this celebration and take advantage of our promotions," said Ann Brittin, president and CEO of Cornerstone CFCU. "It's important for our members to understand that we work diligently to always put their needs first with lower fees and better rates, and we strive to make banking hassle-free and convenient."

The grand opening event will include entertainment, refreshments, gifts for new members and free giveaways. Activities will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. At this time Brittin and David Nemi, chairman of Cornerstone CFCU board of directors, will give brief welcoming remarks. Several other local dignitaries will be present, including Mayor Terry Collesano, Deputy Mayor Bruce Sutherland and Supervisor Steven Reiter, among others.

This new Lewiston location will be open for business Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Members will have access to a 24-hour, walk-up ATM. Those who live, work, worship, volunteer or go to school in Niagara Country are eligible to join. The branch will be the fifth Cornerstone CFCU location in Niagara County, joining two branches in Lockport and one each in Middleport and North Tonawanda.

Cornerstone CFCU offers a full range of low-cost financial products, including traditional personal and business accounts, from checking and savings to credit and no-fee debit cards, in addition to a broad range of loan options and financial planning. Members also benefit from a network of 43,000-plus surcharge-free ATMs that extend into Canada, free checking, online and mobile banking, low rates on loans, competitive dividends on deposits and many special discount programs.

Established in 1957 as Unit No. 1 Federal Credit Union, Cornerstone CFCU is a community-chartered, federally insured credit union.
