'Glee's' Kevin McHale to join Demi Lovato as co-host of 'Teen Choice 2012'

Star of "Glee," Kevin McHale, is set to co-host "Teen Choice 2012," alongside Demi Lovato. The 14th annual special airs live Sunday, July 22 (8 to 10 p.m.), on FOX. Also, Miranda Cosgrove, Zachary Knighton, Adam Pally, Hayden Panettiere, Zoe Saldana, Damon Wayans Jr. and Shane West have been added to the choice list of talent scheduled to appear.

"Demi and I have been friends for years, and I'd like to thank her for letting me in on the fun co-hosting 'Teen Choice 2012,' " McHale said. "It's exciting to finally be working together professionally and I'd like to welcome her to the FOX family. This is going to be a great show."

"Teen Choice 2012" celebrates the hottest teen icons in television, music, film, sports, fashion, comedy and the Web. Previously announced participants include Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Miley Cyrus, Cat Deeley, Zooey Deschanel, Ellen DeGeneres, Jason Derulo, Zac Efron, Selena Gomez, Lucy Hale, Josh Hutcherson, Victoria Justice, Laura and Vanessa Marano, Bridgit Mendler, Lea Michele, Shay Mitchell, Tyler Posey, Gordon Ramsay, Dax Shepard, Sophia Grace and Rosie, Jordin Sparks and Taylor Swift.

The live special also will feature performances by Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, Flo Rida, No Doubt and DJ Pauly D, who will serve as "Choice" DJ for the night.

Fans ages 13-19 can vote once each day per category for their favorite "Teen Choice 2012" nominees at www.teenchoiceawards.com. Voting ends at 2:59 a.m. on Saturday, July 21.

McHale stars as the loveable, wheelchair-bound "Artie Abrams" on FOX's award-winning musical comedy "Glee." He also was featured on "The X Factor" last season as the Pepsi spokesperson. Born in Plano, Texas, the triple-threat performer moved to Los Angeles as a teenager to pursue his interest in acting, singing and dancing. In addition to his onscreen career, McHale is actively involved in charity work, devoting much of his time to working with people with disabilities and to The Trevor Project. In his spare time, McHale writes original music and is currently working on his first solo album.
