Town of Porter announces it will conduct registration for those interested in participating in its summer recreation program, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, June 27 and 28, at the Stevenson Elementary School gym in Ransomville.

According to Recreation Direction Kathy Zasucha, the town's summer rec program is conducted in "a drop-in a neighborhood-center setting."

"We do not require a specified time period of attendance," says Zasucha. "So the program can have sufficient supplies for all that attend, we are requiring registration."

She reports that parents must furnish a copy of their child's immunization record. And those children in the first grade who are starting the program for the first time will need to furnish a copy of their birth certificate or a kindergarten report card showing their advancement to first grade.

Calendars will available at registration. Those who obtain their registration online can request a calendar on their child's first day of attendance.

Offered to children from the first grade up to and including grade 10, the Porter summer recreation program gets under way Monday, July 2, and continues to Thursday, Aug. 9. Programs are offered Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
