Bruce Sutherland, the Village of Lewiston's deputy mayor, was spotted Thursday painting the deck of the Welcome Center on Center and South Ninth streets. Sutherland, who has been instrumental in establishing the tourism Q-and-A stop, was applying a fresh coat of white paint (which, incidentally, matches the front porch rocking chairs).
The Welcome Center features assorted Niagara Region tourism publications, bikes for rent, and a local calendar or events.
