ABC News and Yahoo! to interview each GOP presidential candidate

In one year, Americans will go to the polls to make their voice heard as they cast their vote for president of the United States. To kick-start the year of digital election coverage, ABC News and Yahoo! News will launch an unprecedented day of live, online-first interviews with each of the leading Republican presidential candidates live today from the campaign trail.

ABC News anchors and correspondents will bring viewers a big-picture understanding of where the candidates stand on the key issues so that every voter can make the most informed personal choice at the ballot box. This historic, all-day online event brings together the candidates for president like never before.

The interviews will be a part of the "Newsmakers" series with Yahoo! News and will be live-streamed on www.ABCNews.com and www.Yahoo.com. Portions of the interviews will also air on ABC News broadcasts and platforms, including "World News with Diane Sawyer," "Good Morning America," "Nightline," "This Week with Christiane Amanpour" and on ABC News Radio. ABC NewsOne, the network's affiliate news service, will make portions of the interviews available to ABC stations and affiliates across the country.

ABC News and Yahoo! solicited questions from viewers and users in the week leading up to the event.

The interviews include:

  • George Stephanopoulos to interview Mitt Romney in Chicago.
  • Jonathan Karl to interview Herman Cain in Scottsdale, Ariz.
  • Christiane Amanpour to interview Rick Perry in Austin, Texas.
  • Jake Tapper to interview Newt Gingrich in Washington, D.C.
  • Terry Moran to interview Ron Paul in Clute, Texas.
  • Ron Claiborne to interview Michelle Bachmann in Charleston, S.C.
  • John Berman to interview Rick Santorum in Manchester, N.H.
  • Sharyn Alfonsi to interview Jon Huntsman in Coral Gables, Fla.
