The New York State Public Employees Federation will host its annual statewide convention in Niagara Falls from Sept. 11-14.

The convention, which has been assisted by the Niagara Tourism and Convention Corp., will bring approximately 1,000 public employees, guests and exhibitors to Niagara USA. The convention will be held at The Conference Center Niagara Falls and 2,400 convention-related room nights were booked at the Sheraton at the Falls, Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn "The Pointe," Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel and The Giacomo. In total, the estimated economic impact of the three-day convention is approximately $672,000 to local businesses in Niagara USA.

"As the busy summer tourism season has come to a close, this convention kicks off a busy month of meetings and conferences at the Conference Center Niagara Falls and their business certainly has a tremendous economic impact on tourism-related entities in Niagara USA," said John H. Percy, president and CEO of the NTCC. "We are pleased the Public Employees Federation has decided to once again host their annual convention in Niagara USA and will accommodate the attendees by providing shuttle buses to visit various local restaurants and business districts."

The NTCC will sponsor shuttle services to bring convention attendees to the Pine Avenue "Little Italy" District and Lewiston's Center Street on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings. NTCC greeters will also be present at The Conference Center Niagara Falls to disseminate information on the various attractions offered in Niagara USA.
