•The board of directors of the NRTG announces an audition call for actors and actresses for the second production of the 2011-12 season, "The Crucible." The organization will audition those interested at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 7 and 8, at the Ellicott Creek Playhouse, St. Edmund Campus, 550 Ellicott Creek Road, Tonawanda.

This Arthur Miller drama has roles for men and women actors and actresses, along with high school-aged girls. The 1953 play is a dramatization of the Salem witch trials, which took place in Massachusetts in 1692 and 1693, and is on the required reading list of many area high schools.

Those interested in auditioning will be asked to read from the script. The production itself is slated for November at the newly renovated theatre. For further information, visit www.niagaratheatre.com or call 284-6358.
