The North Tonawanda Federation Varsity Hockey Team has begun its yearly fundraising efforts. The cost of one season of hockey is approximately $35,000, which the school district is unable to provide. Therefore, the burden falls on the players and the booster club to raise the money.
The team will host a meat raffle fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 17, at Gratwick Firehall, 110 Ward Road, North Tonawanda. The event runs from 6 until 9 p.m., and includes refreshments, a 50/50 raffle (beginning at 6:30 p.m.) and a door prize drawing.
